We had a jammed packed meeting. Here is the recording of it:
But let me give you the run down. Nathan started out by talking about how to become a member of the North Houston Space Society. It is simple, just complete a Google Form, one of the current members will follow up with you, and add you to our internal Slack workspace so you can network with others. There are a lot of benefits to joining such as getting to go on tours and outings, participate in outreach events such as Comicpalooza and the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH). Also, you can put yourself up for a candidate for leadership of the club in an upcoming election, and you can vote.
Then Patricia had a very special treat for us regarding space weather. Dr. Joshua Williams joined our meeting via zoom to talk about the latest solar activity.
Then Brooklynn shared about the latest comet to be in our sky. She did a wonderful job share more details about this astronomical event. Now I hope you all go out and take a look at it right after sunset.
Then Greg gave a fabulous space news update. He covered lots of great details about Europa Clipper, FAA and SpaceX, recent launches, Starlink, and more. Definitely worth watching the replay.
Then we had our featured speaker, Michael Flores, share about Public Relations and his journey at NASA.
One of his slides really caught my attention.
These are all things that you can do at the North Houston Space Society!!
Then afterwards we met up a PJs and had great individual discussions.
Join us for our next meeting on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2PM at Barbara Bush Library. We will have Vickie Kloeris there to share about her journey in food science at NASA where she ensured that the astronauts had something to eat.
